Research grants, fellowships and scholarships for researchers, burn survivors and medical specialities

1) Dear doc, I am interested in doing research work in the burn field, could you help me gather some grants for this?
+ Steven J
Detroit, USA

2) Dear burn surgeon, I suffered severe burns last year and now though all the burns have healed my doc says I need pressure garments (compression garments). I am presently unemployed. Do you know any organisations that can help?
Name withheld,
Portland, USA

Thank you very much for your letters. There are a number if associations and foundations that help researchers and burn survivors to do research, pay for education as well as support therapy, pressure garments etc. There are also a number of fellowships programs that you can enrol for. The easiest way is to find out the burn association society or foundation that functions in your state and then approach the directly. If you are a researcher, they will ask you details of the project that you will research in. if you convince them you can get a grant. If you are a burn survivor you need to show proof of your burn accident (medical certificate) and convince them about the need for a grant. Here are a few that could be of help and I hope you get your grant. A number of general research grants, fellowships, scholarship programs, foundations and organisations are also given to help the readers.
